Sheffield Wednesday have already brought in nine new players this summer and look set to take that to 10 in the very near future.
Danny Rohl and his recruitment team at Hillsborough have been working hard behind the scenes, with Sheffield Wednesday trying to re-sign Ike Ugbo from Troyes.
The Owls want a permanent deal for Ugbo who scored seven goals in 18 Championship appearances on loan during the second half of last season.
It was previously reported that Sheffield Wednesday agreed a £2.5million fee for Ugbo, but that Sunderland had entered the race, and looked like strong contenders.
Since, it’s come to light that Ugbo’s agents used Sunderland’s interest to get Owls owner Dejphon Chansiri to up his bid; Sheffield Wednesday are now set to pay £3million for Ugbo, it has been claimed.
Sheffield Wednesday fans though are still waiting on an official announcement from the club to say that Ugbo has signed.

It appears as though Sheffield Wednesday have been working on a deal to sign Ugbo all summer.
And it may be safe to assume that a deal for the 25-year-old Canadian international has a lot of moving parts, given the length of time it’s taken to complete.
But journalist Alex Miller revealed on X on Wednesday night that Sheffield Wednesday had had another ‘very positive day’ on the Ugbo front.
Miller added that he’s ‘fully expecting’ Ugbo to become a Sheffield Wednesday player before the August 30th summer transfer deadline.

Should Ugbo move to S6 in a £3million deal, he’ll become one of Chansiri’s top 10 most-expensive signings at Sheffield Wednesday.
It’s a huge statement of intent from the controversial Owls owner, with Sheffield Wednesday fans praising Chansiri for his work this summer.
This Ugbo deal will earn Chansiri yet more plaudits, whilst also giving Rohl a striker who he knows can compliment his style of play, and most importantly, score goals.
Now it’s down to Ugbo to repay the faith shown in him by the club.
It’s a great chance for Ugbo to really kick on after a stop-start few years, spending time in and out of England and spending time out on loan to various clubs.
But at Wednesday, Ugbo knows he’s well-liked and can fit into the system, so it looks like a good move all around.
