Norwich City And Bristol City Are Both Keen On Ligue 2 Attacker

Norwich City and Bristol City are both keen on a move for Grenoble Foot attacker Lenny Joseph, according to a report by The Sun.

Norwich City and Bristol City are being linked with a swoop for the forward between now and the end of the transfer window. They have until the deadline on Friday 30th August to bring in reinforcements to their ranks.

Joseph, 23, is under contract at Grenoble Foot until the summer of 2025 meaning they risk losing him for free next year if they don’t cash in on him now or in January, assuming he doesn’t pen an extension anytime soon. His current club finished 11th in Ligue 2 in France last season.

In this latest update regarding the player’s future, The Sun claim he has emerged on the radar of the Canaries and Robins as they both keep tabs on his situation. The report claims Jonathan Rowe could reportedly join Marseille.

Joseph can operate on either flank and can also play down the middle if needed.

The Paris-born man joined Grenoble Foot last year and has since become one of their most prized assets.

He has made 40 appearances in all competitions for them to date and has chipped in with five goals and six assists.

Joseph started his career at Le Puy and Boulogne before being snapped up by Metz in 2021.

He initially broke into the reserve team at Stade Saint-Symphorien and fired eight goals in 14 outings altogether before going on to find the net on four occasions in 40 outings for their senior team before heading out the exit door.

The player has never played outside of France but is now attracting attention from England.

Norwich City could see him as someone to help fill the void left if Rowe departs in the near future.

As for Bristol City, they are no strangers to delving overseas for talent and they have the chance to bring in more reinforcements under Liam Manning between now and next Friday.

What next for Norwich City and Bristol City?

The Canaries lost 2-0 away at Oxford United on the opening day and drew 2-2 with Blackburn Rovers at home last time out. They are back in action this weekend at home to Sheffield United.

As for the Robins, they have four points on the board following a draw against Hull City and a win over Millwall ahead of their upcoming clash against Coventry City at Ashton Gate.
