Stoke City will be landing a head of recruitment with “a wealth of knowledge” if they appoint Ian Torrance.
That’s the view of Torrance from Como’s sporting director Carlalberto Ludi.
The Potters are said to be in talks with Torrance, who is thought to be prepared to swap the Serie A club for the bet365 Stadium.
He joined Como in April last year, having previously spent more than a decade at Southampton.
And upon his arrival in Italy, Ludi and Como’s manager Cesc Fabregas both hailed his vast experience, which could soon benefit Stoke as they aim to inspire a turnaround in the club’s fortunes in the Championship.
Fabregas said: “We are delighted to have Ian join the family. His international experience, gained in one of the biggest leagues in the world, will be important for Como and the ambitious growth path we are on.”
“Ian brings a wealth of knowledge and will be essential in ensuring best practice collaboration between scouts, the data team, sporting and technical staff,” added Ludi.
The Potters have been on the hunt for a new head of recruitment since Lee Darnbrough left the bet365 Stadium last month, after just half a season.
