Cardiff City boss Omer Riza has said Perry Ng ‘won’t be available’ this weekend.

Cardiff City are back in action on Saturday with an away trip to QPR. The Bluebirds have sunk into the Championship relegation zone.

They drew 1-1 at home to Sheffield Wednesday last time out. The Welsh side are sat in 22nd in the table and are a point from safety behind Hull City and Derby County.

Riza has shared this selection update, as per the official club website: “Perry Ng won’t be available, he’s picked up a slight problem. Callum Robinson will be back in the squad, as will Chris Willock. Anwar El Ghazi has hurt his back and was unavailable in training today. Joe Ralls and Aaron Ramsey, the long-term injuries, they’re still out.”

In terms of the game, he added: “We have a game coming up at the weekend and it’s one that we need to win. If you look at the league and the teams that could drop in there, it’s all very close. We know what we need to do.”

Cardiff City selection update regarding Perry Ng

Not having Ng is a blow for Cardiff City and they will have to make do without the defender as they gear up for their crucial clash against QPR.

The Liverpool-born man has been a key player for the Bluebirds over recent years and is an experienced player.

He made the switch to the Cardiff City Stadium back in 2021 and has since been a good servant to his current team.

Ng has made 176 appearances for Cardiff City in all competitions to date, 30 of which have come this season, and he has chipped in with nine goals.

He was handed a new deal last year running until 2026. At the time, he told the club website: “My family are happy here and so am I. I love the City and love the Club. I’m buzzing to get it done. I think this Club has good ambition, as you can see with the summer we’ve had. We just have to show it on the pitch now. I can’t wait for the future.”

The Crewe Alexandra academy graduate went on to play 182 matches for the Railwaymen before he made the step up to the second tier.

Will Cardiff City stay up?

Cardiff City have seven games left to play as they look to avoid relegation to League One.

They are in the bottom three along with Plymouth Argyle and Luton Town.
