Tottenham Set To Receive £4 Million From Ipswich Town New Signing

Tottenham Hotspur will pocket a £4 million profit from their former attacker Jack Clarke, following his move to Ipswich Town.

According to a report from Football Insider, Tottenham are all set to receive £4 million from the move to take Jack Clarke to Ipswich Town. The newly promoted Premier League outfit were looking for more firepower on the flanks, and they have added the former Tottenham star to their team.

Clarke came up the ranks at Leeds United and made it to their first team in the summer of 2018. After just 12 months with the senior term, Tottenham acquired his services. The North London club added him to their squad with a lot of expectations, but things did not go according to plan for them.

The 23-year-old winger could only make four appearances for Spurs’ first team during his time at the club. He spent the majority of his time out on loan. The move to the Stadium of Light helped him revive his stuttering career. He initially joined them on a short loan at the start of 2022, and the deal was made permanent that summer.

He featured in 114 matches for the Black Cats and contributed towards 51 goals (28 goals, 23 assists). Clarke’s consistent performances put him on the radar of the newly promoted Ipswich Town. Kieran McKenna’s team had been working hard to sign the 23-year-old for some time, and they have finally succeeded in bringing him to the club.

Tottenham profit from Clarke’s move to Ipswich

After agreeing terms to join Ipswich Town, the English winger has completed a medical at his new club. Back in winter, some reports suggested he would leave Sunderland if they failed to secure promotion and those reports have turned out to be true.

The move has been made official, and it will result in a significant profit for Tottenham. When they complete their sale to Sunderland, the North London club secure a 25% sell-on fee.

With Clarke joining Ipswich Town in a deal worth £15 million as a fixed fee plus around £3 million in performance-based add-ons, Spurs are all set to make around £4 million. While the English forward’s career did reach a standstill during his time at Tottenham, things have been great for him in recent years, and he is all set for a new journey in the English top flight with Ipswich.
