The South Sydney Rabbitohs are pleased to announce their squad for their ANZAC Round eight match against the Melbourne Storm to be played this ANZAC Day Saturday 25 April at 8:10pm at AAMI Park.
Rabbitohs Head Coach Wayne Bennett has named the same 17 players that defeated the Dragons last Saturday night, with Euan Aitken selected on the extended bench, returning from injury this weekend.
Winger Alex Johnston is set to play the 250th NRL game of his career this Saturday night, having made his NRL debut 12 years ago to the day in ANZAC Round in 2014. Johnston has gone on to represent Papua New Guinea, Australia, Indigenous All Stars and he is the greatest try scorer in Australian Rugby League history.
The Rabbitohs team will be wearing the Rabbitohs’ 2026 ANZAC Round Jersey in Saturday’s game, celebrating 125 years since the founding of the Royal Australian Navy and honours the 14 men who wore both the red and green and the Navy blue, both players and officials, who served their country with the same commitment they brought to the football field. This is the fifth year of the partnership between the Royal Australian Navy and the South Sydney Rabbitohs. $5 from every jersey sold will go to Keeping Watch – a charitable fund for Royal Australian Navy families who are in financial need.
