Frank Lampard will “be in a situation of jeopardy” if he becomes the new Coventry City boss, says Simon Jordan.
While Jordan’s fellow talkSPORT pundit Martin Keown believes Lampard “could build something special” at the CBS Arena.
The Chelsea and England icon, 46, is one of the frontrunners for the vacant post at Coventry. Sky Blues owner Doug King decided to sack Mark Robins last week after seven defeats in their opening 14 Championship matches.
Lampard is one of several big name candidates in the running for the post having been out of work for 18 months since leaving Chelsea.
The possibility of him succeeding Robins was discussed on talkSPORT on Monday, with it being suggested taking the job would be a gamble for Lampard. Jordan responded: “Do you think he’s going to have an embarrassment of riches? When we talk about a gamble. If he wants to manage a football club, he’s got to accept where he is. Wherever he goes, Frank is going to be in a situation of jeopardy.”
And former Arsenal defender Keown added: “He could build something special there.”
