Norwich City Line Up £11m For Signing Of Polish Striker From Rakow

Norwich City are set to sign striker Ante Crnac from Polish club Rakow, as per Gianluca Di Marzio.

Norwich City are hoping to replicate their good showing last season by finishing in the top six for a second time running.

Johannes Hoff Thorup is the man tasked with taking the Canaries forward and he is experiencing English football for the first time in his career.

Norwich City have been quite active this summer window and have seen some big names in the likes of Gabriel Sara depart, and it appears some of that money may be used to help them add to their forward line.

Crnac, 20, is set to sign for Norwich City in a deal worth around £11m according to Italian reporter Di Marzio.

Crnac is a big prospect in Poland and has a strong goals coring record so far in his senior career.

So far this season he has only managed one goal and one assist in five league outings, but last time around he scored eight and assisted five in 26 league games in Poland’s top tier.

He played for Slaven Belupo before that in Croatia’s top tier and in 41 league appearances across just over a season he scored nine and assisted two.

The 20-year-old has plenty of room to grow and it is a big money move for the Championship club, but it will be hoped in the years to come that proves worthwhile and his value only grows from here on in.

A slow start

Many would have argued a transition period would have been quite normal for Norwich City to have due to the fact they lost their manager and have seen some key players depart, and new ones arrive.

However, there are big improvements that need making at Carrow Road over the coming weeks to ensure this hesitant start to the campaign doesn’t become a longer-term problem.

Thorup had a successful time coaching in Denmark and if he can implement his new methods to his new dressing room as soon as possible then there’s no reason it can’t work in England’s second tier.

But, only time will tell on that front and it may be a case of Norwich City falling back this season in order to go and kick on and progress in the following years.

Up next for the Canaries as they search for their first league win is a home clash at Carrow Road against Sheffield United.

The Blades have won one and drew one in their opening two fixtures and will be hoping to make it seven from a possible nine when they travel to face Norwich City this weekend.
