Burns joins Bristol City following former club Reading’s resignation from playing in the Barclays Women’s Championship earlier this summer.
The 27-year-old keeper spent two seasons with The Royals in which she made 16 appearances for the Berkshire club in all competitions. Burns has also played for Mid-Ulster, ÍBV, Glentoran and BK Häcken in her career to date.
On the international stage, Burns has 52 caps for Northern Ireland. The keeper represented The Green and White Army at the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022.
After joining Bristol City, Burns said “Bristol City have always been one of those teams which has competed for the Championship. You always want to go to a club which has a good backing, and I have heard so much about the City supporters and how amazing they are.
“I am really excited to get started and get going with this team.”
Burns is Bristol City’s third signing of the summer transfer window following the recent additions of winger Lexi Lloyd-Smith and defender Harley Bennett.
