West Ham could still sign another striker from Europe this Summer with Danny Ings’ departure looming.
Despite a lot of injuries throughout his career, Danny Ings has done a good job at scoring goals wherever he goes, everywhere except West Ham. Unfortunately, like many other strikers in recent years, Ings has failed to provide the goods when wearing the claret and blue.
While there are some difficulties in doing so due to his ridiculously high wages, Claret and Hugh reports that the Englishman could be on his way out of the club before the window shuts. If that is to be the case, then the club will look to bring in another forward too.
Although there are links to both Samu Omorodion and, more notably, Jhon Duran, the news site claims that it could be someone else entirely that they sign.
Tammy Abraham is probably the most West Ham striker imaginable. He’s tall, has a fairly average goal scoring record and, above all else, is extremely injury prone. In fact, he missed the majority of last season through injury.
Now that Niclas Fullkrug has been signed, the Hammers should really be looking to sign a younger striker with bags of potential who can learn of the experienced ones they have at the club. While he will no doubt score goals if he’s fit, it just doesn’t seem like the logical option given how the squad is shaping up.
