West Brom have now made contact with a Sheffield Wednesday player who is out of contract this summer.
Sheffield Wednesday will see a handful of players reach the end of their contracts at the end of June, with several having already moved on.
Cameron Dawson has now joined Reece James in joining Rotherham United on a free transfer from Sheffield Wednesday.
Elsewhere, Lee Gregory has signed for Mansfield Town, whilst the likes of George Byers is searching for a new club.
Di’Shon Bernard is another out of contract and he looks to be facing an uncertain summer ahead, with the defender currently away on international duty with Jamaica in Copa America.
Josh Windass also sees his contract expire at the end of June and reports have revealed that the striker looks increasingly likely to leave this summer.
He’s had interest from several Championship clubs including West Brom, who’ve now reportedly made contact with the 30-year-old over a summer switch.

Windass scored goals in each of the final three games of last season, helping to fire Sheffield Wednesday to an eventual 20th place finish in the Championship.
He was offered a new contract at the end of the season, per the club’s retained list, and reports suggested that Windass looked set to stay.
Since, it’s been claimed that Windass now looks more likely to leave Hillsborough this summer, and an emerging report from Birmingham World says that West Brom ‘are keen and have made contact with the player’s representatives’.
Birmingham City are also interested in signing Windass this summer, following their relegation to League One last season.

West Brom have made a good habit of picking up Championship players on free transfers, with names like Alex Mowatt, John Swift, and Jed Wallace having all joined as free agents.
And all have prevailed under Carlos Corberan who’s become a very well-regarded coach at Championship level.
Windass is a player with great technical skills and when he gathered fitness under Danny Rohl, he became a very clinical striker.
Under Corberan, and in a team with more attacking and overall quality around him, Windass could really up his game, and even help fire West Brom to the Premier League next season.
So it may be an exciting opportunity for Windass who’ll leave with the well wishes of Owls fans after several good years with the club.
For Rohl though, losing Windass is a blow, and it’ll only add to the increasingly desperate need for a striker in S6 this summer.
