West Brom have appointed him as their new head coach. WBA have picked the 33-year-old as their permanent replacement for Tony Mowbray.
Mason has penned a three-year deal at The Hawthorns running until 2028. He has joined the Championship side from his first-team coach role at Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
Patel has said, as per the official club website: “We are delighted to welcome Ryan to The Hawthorns as our new Head Coach, along with Nigel (Gibbs) and Sam (Pooley). We have undertaken a thoughtful and expansive search and Ryan always stood out to us among an incredibly strong group of candidates.
“We are excited to have someone whose skillset means he has the aptitude to help us further establish elite standards in both preparation and player development for the first team and across all our team programmes.
“His experiences as both a first team player and coach under some of the game’s most respected minds, along with his time leading academy sides, will be instrumental as we shape a clear philosophy and unified identity at all levels at the Albion.”

West Brom will be hoping Mason is the man to lead them forward. WBA will be aiming to get into the play-offs next season.
The Baggies missed out on the top six in this past campaign. They have since decided to cut ties with a few different players including Grady Diangana, John Swift and Semi Ajayi.
Mason has the chance to put his own stamp on his newly inherited squad with some new signings this summer. He will also get the opportunity to let some more individuals head out the exit door in the transfer window as well should he want to freshen up their ranks.
West Brom boss Ryan Mason’s story so far
Mason rose up through the academy at Tottenham Hotspur and spent most of his playing days with the London club. He went on to play 70 matches for their first-team, as well as having loan spells away at Doncaster Rovers, Millwall and Swindon Town to get some experience.
Hull City snapped him up on a permanent basis in 2016 following their promotion to the top flight. However, his career was cut short during his time with the Tigers due to a serious head injury.
Mason has since delved into the coaching world at Spurs. He has worked his way up to joining their senior coaching staff and has now landed his first number one managerial role in the game at West Brom.
