Favour Fawunmi is back at Stoke City after suffering a season-ending hamstring injury on loan at Leyton Orient.

The 19-year-old winger pulled up in a 2-0 win over Wycombe Wanderers on March 21 and has now returned to Clayton Wood for treatment.

He had made seven appearances in League One since making the switch late in the January transfer window, getting his first proper taste of regular senior football.

Orient boss Richie Wellens said: “We’re disappointed to see Favour’s time with us cut short. He has impressed me with his ability and his character shown as a young man.

“He’s a very talented player and I’d like to wish him all the best for the future, one that I’m sure will be very successful.”

Orient are 17th with seven games to play, including tonight’s away match at Wigan Athletic. They are 12 points short of the play-off places and six ahead of the relegation zone.

Fawunmi joined Stoke after leaving West Ham last season and has made five first team appearances under Mark Robins.
