Southampton Exit Left In Jeopardy After ‘Issues Arose’ During Medical As Talks Now Re-Opened

Armel Bella-Kotchap’s move from Southampton to TSG Hoffenheim is in danger of collapsing after issues arose during his medical.

That’s according to journalist Florian Plettenberg, who reports that the deal could now fail because of the issues discovered.

Bella-Kotchap appeared to be finally closing in on a return to Germany this week as reports at the beginning of the week made it clear that Hoffenheim and Southampton had reach an agreement.

That was followed by an explanation that Bella-Kotchap was travelling to Germany to undergo a medical and Plettenberg confirms that happened across Tuesday and then today.

The problem is that ‘issues arose’ during that medical, leaving the potential transfer in jeopardy as a result. There’s no mention of what the issues are at this point.

Plettenberg also relays information from BILD, who insist that the deal is not 100% off at this stage and all of the parties involved, Southampton, Hoffenheim and the player, are ‘trying to find a solution’ to the matter.

The deal has now been left in a waiting period as they try to do so, with those medical issues seemingly bringing everything to a halt.
