Southampton take on Bristol City on Tuesday evening in a vital game that needs to be won if we are to have any chance of Automatic promotion and Tonda Eckert has stressed the importance of a packed St Mary’s roaring the team on. Saints run out against Bristol City on Tuesday evening looking to secure their 9th victory in a row and now with only 3 games of the Championship season left Tonda Eckert has in the words of Southampton FC’s Official Website “highlighted the positive impact of the growing connection between his team and the Saints support in recent weeks, including a raucous night against Arsenal that booked a trip to Wembley in the Emirates FA Cup semi-finals this weekend.” Tonda had this to say: “I’m very much hoping that we get the stadium as full as possible,” he said of Tuesday’s Bristol City clash “We’ll do everything on the pitch to transmit that energy, and we are very much hoping for big, big support from the stands.” Hopefully this will stir up Saints supporters to snap up the last 500 or so tickets that remain on sale. Certainly there has been some movement in this as around 500 have been sold since this morning, so it is likely to sell out by midday on the day of the match if not sooner. With three h=games left there is a lot to play for, if we win tonight and Millwall fail to win at Stoke then we would jump into the top 2 , a big psychological boost. If Ipswich then fail to win at Charlton on Wednesday evening, then we would stay there going into the weekend, meaning that automatic promotion would be in our own hands. Not only that, but a win would secure a play off spot. So this is the time that this football team needs it’s fans to help get it over the line, It has been a tough last couple of months and you can see that the team have given their all, now they need a boost that keeps them going for the start of what is a vital last few games of the season, one that could see history made. |
