Sheffield Wednesday Loanee’s Message To Fans Amid Carlisle United Swtich

Sean Fusire has expressed his thanks to a “great city and great club” as he departs Carlisle United.

The Sheffield Wednesday midfielder has expressed his gratitude for his time at Brunton Park.

Fusire, 19, made 14 appearances for the Cumbrians in the second half of the season.

In a social media post he spoke of his regret that United lost their fight for EFL survival, but he said he appreciated his time with the Blues.

“Great people, great city and a great club,” Fusire wrote on Instagram.

“Hurts not to have reached our goal but I’m so grateful for my time here.

“GOD is so good. Thank you for all the support and all the best for the future @officialcufc.”

Fusire joined United as one of 11 signings in the January transfer window.

After coming through the ranks at Hillsborough, he was given his league debut at Carlisle.

He went on to make eight starts and six substitute appearances, Fusire becoming a regular pick under Mark Hughes during the closing weeks of the season.

Fusire was one of four loan players on United’s books in the second half of the campaign, along with Joe Hugill, Charlie McArthur and Joe Bevan.

Newcastle United defender McArthur earlier this week expressed his thanks to Carlisle and their fans, and wished the club well.

The quartet return to their parent clubs at a time United are yet to confirm decisions on players on the permanent books at Brunton Park.

Some 11 players are out of contract this summer with Carlisle yet to clarify their retained and released decisions.

It comes at a time the Blues are also looking to finalise the head coach position, amid discussions with Mark Hughes and other candidates believed to be under consideration.
