Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl has said Dominic Iorfa will ‘hopefully’ be available around the time of the next international break in March.
Sheffield Wednesday’s defender has been sidelined with injury over recent times. SWFC have had to make do without him as they look to get into the play-offs.
Iorfa, 29, has made 17 appearances in all competitions so far this season, 16 of which have come in the league, and he has chipped in with one goal. He is under contract at Hillsborough until the summer of 2026.
In this latest update regarding his condition, Rohl has said, as per a report by The Star: “We are on a schedule. The only thing with Dom is that we first said we would give him two extra weeks because it was a second injury in a short time. Normally with this injury you can carry on earlier but it was a decision from our side to give him a little bit more time.
“The good thing is that he trained now this week and it is now about next week, making sure he can go again. We will train with him on a bigger pitch, where he comes through the acceleration and the longer sprints. It is good to see him and in the short term hopefully by the international break we will have one more option.”

Sheffield Wednesday will be patient with Iorfa and won’t want to rush him back too quickly.
It will be a big boost when he is back fit again and he provides more competition to their defensive ranks.
The former England youth international has been a key player for the Owls since joining them in 2019.
He has been a great servant to the South Yorkshire club and has played 182 matches, finding the net on six occasions.
Iorfa helped Sheffield Wednesday win the League One play-off final back in 2023 under former manager Darren Moore after they beat Barnsley at Wembley.
The Southend-born man linked up with Wolves in 2013 and rose up through their ranks as a youngster.
He went on to play 93 matches for the Midlands outfit altogether before he was allowed to head out the Molineux exit door on a permanent basis.
Iorfa was also loaned out to Shrewsbury Town and Ipswich Town to get some experience under his belt.

Sheffield Wednesday are back in action on Friday at home to Sunderland.
The Owls have lost their last two games on the spin against Coventry City and Burnley.
