Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Röhl Talks Readiness Ahead Of Hull City Clash

Danny Rohl believes things will click for his Sheffield Wednesday side following Saturday’s frustrating 1-1 draw with Cardiff City, as he plots a second victory over Hull City this season.

Wednesday dominated the Hillsborough clash, notching up more than 60 per cent of the ball and 16 attempts, but hit the target with just three, scoring only one through ex-City man Di’Shon Bernard, stats which are eerily similar to those of the Tigers away at Luton Town.

That result, coming on the back of a 1-0 loss at bitter rivals Sheffield United before the international break, leaves the Owls 15th in the table, four points above 22nd place City, who have not won in eight and were beaten 1-0 at Kenilworth Road on Saturday, their third loss on the spin.

German boss Röhl, however, is confident the tide will turn as he looks to mastermind another victory in City’s own back yard, having already won in the Carabao Cup back in early August.

“It will come. I am happy with the performance of my players and the things we did but of course we need to win these games,” the Owls coach said. “We had almost all of the ball, we had most of the chances, but we could not get that second goal.. I had the feeling that if we made it 2-1, we would have won the game comfortably.

“We have scored a lot of nice goals this season and to be honest I would take a ‘dirty’ goal, anything with a bit of luck that we cannot seem to get. But it will come. I am happy with my players and what they are showing, it is now about going to the next level. We have two away games next week and we will be ready.”
