There’s a chance it could be Micah Drescher, a class of 2026 kicker from Hinsdale High School in Illinois just outside Chicago who pledged to the Wolverines on social media on Wednesday, June 18.

While he does not have a recruit grade on 247sports consensus rankings, he is ranked as the No. 4 kicker in the Class of 2026 by Chris Sailer Kicking, which said he also held offers from Northwestern, Air Force, Army and UConn in addition to the Wolverines.
“One of the strongest legs in America,” the site reads of the 6-foot-3, 190-pound athlete. “Micah does an excellent job on the field goal, a strength. He hits a pure, accurate ball off the ground and has 55+ yard range. His kickoffs are strong, D1 ready. Micah’s best ball measures 70+ yards, with 4.15+ hang time. Also a very talented punter.
“He has a bright future at the college level with continued hard work. Look for him to dominate this offseason picking up D1 offers along the way.”
The other specialists U-M has in the fold are Hudson Hollenbeck and Luke Bauer, both of whom are primarily punters, as well as Stuart Blake, a redshirt freshman who did not play in 2024. Former Under Armour All-American kicker Adam Samaha (an Ann Arbor native at Huron High School) transferred to North Carolina last winter, but has since again entered the portal and landed at Akron.
The Wolverines now have 10 commits in the Class of 2026, which is ranked No. 38 nationally.
