Mets’ Rotation Suffers Blow With Pitcher Going On IL With Elbow Injury

As the Mets prepared to face the Yankees in a two-game set at Yankee Stadium, they were hit with bad news.

On Tuesday, the Mets announced that Christian Scott, who was ranked the team’s top pitching prospect before the season, is being placed on the injured list with a right UCL sprain. Left-hander Alex Young, who was claimed off waivers on July 17, was called up from Triple-A Syracuse in a corresponding move.
