Bristol City have completed the signing of Chelsea defender Greta Humphries on a season-long loan deal.
The Robins announced news of the transfer via a post on their official club website this afternoon.
The 19-year-old is a product of the Chelsea academy system. Humphries has represented The Blues at Professional Game Academy League level but she is still awaiting her senior debut for the club. The teenager recently signed her first professional contract with Chelsea.
Humphries is now at the age where she needs first team experience and she will get that at Bristol City this season. The player’s move to Ashton Gate continues the good relationship between Bristol City and Chelsea. The Robins have also been able to loan Aggie Beever-Jones and Brooke Aspin from the South West Londoners in recent seasons.
After joining Bristol City, Humphries said “The club is really ambitious, the players are lovely from meeting them this week.
“I’m so excited to get started and I think it’s going to be a really exciting journey. I want us to be as competitive as possible in the Championship and get as much experience as possible in women’s football.”
Humphries is Bristol City’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window.
