Bristol Rovers Set Date For Fan’s Forum Later This Week After Hectic Summer Of Recruitment

Bristol Rovers will hold a fan’s forum later this week with a number of key figures at the club set to be on the panel

Bristol Rovers have announced that a fan’s forum will take place this Thursday (September 12) which will allow supporters to put questions towards a number of senior personell at the football club.

On the board will be manager Matt Taylor, Director of Football George Friend, Director of Commerical and Revenue Richie Bates and a member of the first-team squad with questions asked to be submitted prior to the event.

Rovers last held a fan’s forum in March, although it was labelled as a ‘fan’s Q&A’ and was an event organised by the Bristol Rovers Supporters Club, with Taylor, Friend, Executive Vice President Abdullatif AlSaeed, former CEO Tom Gorringe and former player Antony Evans on the panel. A variety of topics were dicussed that evening with the redevelopment of The Mem and The Quarters a major point of discussion, as well as the club’s finances.

Gorringe left his role with the Gas at the end of last month having spent seven years at the club while Bates’ arrival was announced at the same time as the former CEO’s departure. The Rovers Director of Commerical and Revenue has 12 years of EFL experience having had spells at Port Vale, Lincoln City and Mansfield Town and oversees partnerships, retail, ticketing and revenue.

Based on the panel, the assumption is that a good deal of the questions will relate to the recent transfer window and plans for future recruitment on the back of a hectic summer.

In what was Friend’s first transfer window in his role, the Gas signed 16 players with the current squad looking considerably different to the group of players that were at the club when last season ended.

The event will be held in the Bristol Bar at The Mem and will run from 7pm to 8pm with doors opening at 6:30pm. Rovers have made the tickets free of charge on their official website but state that they must be claimed and registered prior to the event.

It has also been confirmed that the fan’s forum will be filmed and made available free to watch on the club’s BRTV channel on Friday.
