Dan Ellison may have only transferred from Chippenham Town to Bristol Rovers last summer, but he will face them again as a much more seasoned player.
Beginning his football career at Chippenham Academy, he worked his way into the first team at the age of 18, playing in the National League South. He continued to impress there, earning Man Of The Match in his first game for the first team.
The defender signed a two-year contract with the Pirates last summer, signing from Bluebirds, with the option for an additional season. On his debut for Rovers against Melksham Town, he scored not once but twice in a 4-2 victory. He then went out on loan to Aldershot Town to gain regular first-team experience at a senior level. During his time at the Shots, he played a crucial role in the team’s journey to the Isuzu FA Trophy Final at Wembley versus Spennymoor Town, where he scored in the final and helped lift the trophy for the first time in their history.
Ellison’s prior experience includes making his debut for England C after catching the attention of manager Paul Fairclough. The 20-year-old has accumulated 53 appearances across the National League, National League South, and the Emirates FA Cup, scoring four goals.
Since starting his career with the Bluebirds and moving to the Gas, Dan has gained more experience. He is continuously progressing and improving, eagerly anticipating the new season in a Rovers shirt to see what he will accomplish under new Head Coach Darrell Clarke.
