Bristol Rovers are positioned in 21st place in the League One table. They are inside the drop zone on goal difference behind Burton Albion. However, the Brewers have a game in hand on the Gas.
Inigo Calderon’s side are inside the bottom four along with Shrewsbury Town, Cambridge United and Crawley Town. They have only two fixtures left to save themselves. First up is a home clash against Reading this weekend followed by an away trip to Bloomfield Road to play Blackpool on the final day.

Bristol Rovers picked up an impressive 1-1 draw against promotion chasing Wrexham at the Racecourse Ground on Good Friday. Taylor Moore was on the scoresheet for them in Wales. They then managed to leave with a point which wasn’t a bad result under the circumstances.
The Gas had the chance to build some momentum as they geared up to face Stevenage on Easter Monday. However, they were beaten 1-0 at the Memorial Ground. Jamie Reid’s first half goal was enough for the visitors to get all three points and the Pirates couldn’t get themselves back into it.
Speaking afterwards, Calderon said: “It was not the performance we needed. It’s as simple as that. I don’t think it was good enough, especially in the first half. It was not the level we have to be on a day like today. It was not good enough. The first half especially, I would say. In the second half, you have to change the game, and maybe it’s a bit more chaotic, and the nerves come. It’s not the first game it’s happened. They scored the first one too early in the game, and then we panicked because of the situation we were in.”
Bristol Rovers latest predicted finish in League One forecast
Bristol Rovers have been predicted to get relegated to League Two. They are backed to finish in the relegation places along with Shrewsbury, Cambridge and Crawley. The campaign is being tipped to go to the final day with Burton staying up by two points in the end.
At the other end of the league, if the forecast is true would Wrexham go up automatically with Birmingham City. Wycombe Wanderers, Charlton Athletic, Stockport County and Reading then make up the play-offs. Leyton Orient and Bolton Wanderers would miss out on the top six.
