Birmingham City Boss Sends Savage Message To Wrexham’s A-List Guests

Birmingham City’s manager has sent a rather savage message to the A-listers in attendance for the 3-1 win over Wrexham.

Chris Davies didn’t have a care in the world that superstar guests Tom Brady, Rob McElhenney and David Beckham were watching on as Blues beat Wrexham on Monday night.

The Birmingham head coach is delighted by the publicity and attention surrounding the football club but isn’t personally concerned by the presence of celebrities at matches. It’s a different case for Brady, of course, given his part ownership of the club, but Davies doesn’t take notice of any other special guests – or the hype surrounding their attendance.

“I really don’t pay any attention to that stuff, I’ve got no idea what was going on or who was going to be here because that’s not my domain,” Davies said during the post-match press conference.

“What’s important is what happens on the pitch and in training how we approach the game. I’m pleased for the club that we’ve had the right attention we deserve but all that stuff for me is of no real interest.”

Chris Davies didn’t care about the celebrities being in attendance for Birmingham City 3-1 Wrexham.

It was easy, then, for Davies to shrug off all the Hollywood-centric anticipation for the game but it was never going to be as simple for the players. With so much build-up and trends on social media focusing on the game, it was inevitable that members of Birmingham’s squad would take notice.

“It was something I did address with the players that this was something going on but that’s not our domain, our domain is the pitch and what we do. It’s about focusing on the performance and the external stuff is irrelevant to us,” Davies reiterated.

“It’s true, they’ll follow the social media and they’ll know the attention and hype around the game, but I didn’t see any change at all from a concentration point of view or any pressure. As I say, if anything it made us better because it was all-round our best performance of the season,” Davies said.
