Augsburg have joined Southampton and Royal Antwerp in the race to sign Amane Romeo (21).
That’s according to Sacha Tavolieri who reports that BK Häcken want €5m for the Ivorian, who has played 20 games across all competitions this season with the Allsvenskan played between April and November.
Romeo moved to Sweden in January 2022, with the player’s current deal expiring in 2026. During his time at Häcken, the central midfielder has played 84 games across all competitions, scoring seven and creating nine. The Ivorian also has European experience having played in the Europa League last season, where he played against Bayer Leverkusen.
Despite signing Kristijan Jakic on a permanent basis, Augsburg remain short in midfield and so a move to the Bundesliga club offers a pathway to the first team, while a move to Southampton would unlikely yield a substantial amount of playing time for the Ivorian.
