Stevenage Football Club have agreed a significant six-figure fee plus add-ons with Championship side Ipswich Town for the permanent transfer of 17-year-old Ryan Doherty.

Doherty joined Stevenage at Under-9 level and progressed through the ranks before signing his first professional contract with the Club in August last year. The young midfielder became Boro’s youngest-ever outfield player when he made his First Team debut in October 2024, before going on to make several First Team appearances in cup competitions.
Having continued to impress at senior level, the midfielder was rewarded with his first league starts in December 2025 against Cardiff City and Burton Albion.
Everyone at Stevenage Football Club would like to congratulate Ryan on his move to Ipswich Town and wish him every success in the next chapter of his career.
