Houston Rockets head coach Ime Udoka discussed key areas the group needs to be better in for 2025-26 back at NBA 2K26 Summer League.
(via July 13th ESPN NBA Summer League broadcast- Detroit Pistons vs. Houston Rockets):
“I would say the one that stands out is some of the shooting numbers — we wanna shoot it better from three, obviously. Had to send some guys that had really good years, but you add some guys as well. Obviously Kevin [Durant] coming and being a part of that will definitely help, but we’re not just really relying on him. We need guys that continue to work on their shot creation, other guys being able to create for each other, and not just relying on Alpi [Sengun] in the post or Fred [VanVleet] handling pick-and-roll or Kevin could bail us out. Everybody has to grow in that area, so we look at Tari [Eason], Amen [Thompson], Jabari [Smith Jr.], the young talent that we have that have taken those steps — and that’s really been a focus of theirs in the offseason. They continue to grow as a team, and the more weapons we have out there, the better we’ll be.”
