25-year-old star flies in for Southampton medical as American forward is reportedly set to head in the opposite direction

Daniel Peretz’s loan move from FC Bayern to Southampton appears to be finally nearing completion.

Bayern Munich goalkeeper Daniel Peretz is on his way to England to undergo a medical ahead of his proposed loan move to Southampton, according to RTL/ntv and Sport.de.

The 25-year-old’s loan at Hamburger SV has been cut short, with Bayern waiving the agreed loan fee to allow him to finalise his move to the English side.

Peretz will be hoping for regular playing time at Southampton, having been second-choice to Daniel Heuer Fernandes at HSV.

Interestingly, American forward Damion Downs is reportedly set to head in the opposite direction to Germany, joining HSV on loan from Southampton.
