Super League-linked Tom Trbojevic set to sign new deal worth over $2.5 million

Manly's Tom Trbojevic celebrates try with a thumbs up

Super League-linked Tom Trbojevic looks set to stay in the NRL next season, it has been reported.

Trbojevic has been strongly linked with a move to Super League in recent weeks with the full-back having just one year left on his current deal with Manly Sea Eagles. According to reports, the Australian had been exploring his options in Super League after struggling for fitness with Manly, while there had been suggestions that he could be moved away from his preferred number one spot full-time.

However, according to the Sydney Morning Herald, Trbojevic has now been offered a three-year contract extension by the Sea Eagles, which would secure his future until the end of the 2029 NRL season.

The report claims the deal would be worth around $2.5 million and as a result it looks likely that he will stick around on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. That deal could even increase by to $3m should the NRL’s broadcast deal increase, but it still needs to be signed off by the club’s board.

Trbojevic has been with Manly his entire career to date, breaking through into the first grade in 2015 and featuring heavily ever since. As such, he now has 170 appearances to his name with 111 tries being scored in that period.

He has scored nine tries in 10 appearances for New South Wales, while he also has two caps for Australia to his name.

The 28-year-old was mentioned recently by former Warrington Wolves man Andrew Johns, who suggested his former club had asked him about Trbojevic before outlining why he believes the full-back going to England would deliver a huge boost to the game in the Northern Hemisphere.

That move doesn’t look likely to happen now, though, with Manly set to tie down their main man.
