Stoke City Four On Loan Players Future Have Been Decided Ahead Of Summer Transfer

Stoke City are prioritising the survival fight but they are sure to have an eye on what next season could hold too.

Stoke City have had another busy year of transfer business but once again, it has yielded no improvement. SCFC have slid further down the Championship table and into the relegation fight.

The Potters are 20th in the league, just one point above the bottom three with eight games left. With other sides picking up some vital results, they must be very careful to not suffer a shock drop to League One.

Regardless of what the coming weeks hold though, the club hierarchy will have eyes on some summer transfer decisions and calls will have to be made on those on loan away from the Bet365 Stadium.

With that said, we look at what could come of the four players on loan away from Stoke City this summer…

Niall Ennis

Striker Ennis has not been able to make an impact at Stoke City and saw a winter loan to Blackpool sanctioned as a result.

He scored four goals in his first five games for the club, showing what he can do in front of goal. However, it feels unlikely that he gets another shot at SCFC with his deal up in 2026, perhaps prompting a permanent swoop from Steve Bruce and co.

Tommy Simkin

England youth international Tommy Simkin has continued his exciting development on loan away from Stoke City, keeping 12 clean sheets in 36 games for League Two leaders Walsall.

A big future lays ahead of the young ‘keeper and he will likely make a new loan move for the 2025/26 campaign.

Nikola Jojic

Unfortunately, Jojic has not developed as hoped with Stoke City and his loans with Mladost and HNK Gorica haven’t had much fruit to bear.

His temporary deal with the latter includes an option to buy but he will have to impress to see that triggered. It could be that Jojic is back with the Potters this summer with a different permanent move lined up.

Darius Lipsiuc

Lipsiuc joined from St. Pat’s in January 2024 as a bright prospect for the future and will be nurtured as such over the coming years.

His Walsall stint hasn’t had much fruit to bear so Stoke City could loan him to another League Two side next season, but an SCFC sale will not be on the cards.
