A huge NRL star has been linked with a move to London Broncos, as they begin to rebuild once again under the ownership of Australian icon Darren Lockyer and Gary Hetherington.
Former Parramatta Eels and current Gold Coast Titans prop, Reagan Campbell-Gillard’s name has been once again tipped with a move to the UK, with the capital looking to be his next destination.
Starting his NRL career in 2015 with Penrith Panthers, the rampaging prop spent five years under Ivan Cleary’s mentorship, as he enjoyed 114 matches at the Sydney-based outfit before a move to the Eels, then coached by current Leeds Rhinos boss, Brad Arthur.
Spending another half-decade at the Eels, Campbell-Gillard made another century of appearances in the Blue and Gold, including the 2022 Grand Final in which they were defeated by his former team. At the end of that year, RCG was selected for Australia in the World Cup. He would be part of the side that won the competition, and despite wearing the number six jersey for the tournament, started in the front row for the semi-final against New Zealand and final against Samoa.

London Broncos will have to overcome some obstacles to secure NRL star
However, despite what would a huge coup for the Super League hopefuls, it is worth noting that their place in the top division is not yet confirmed, with the announcement as to who will be in Super League set to be revealed in October. Campbell-Gillard is too quality a player to be playing in the second tier, and is unlikely to join should they not get promoted.
Another dilemma the Broncos have is the fact that the 32-year-old has openly stated this year that a move overseas is “false information”.
After being linked with St Helens earlier in the year, the Titans prop spoke to Aussie media and said: “There’s some false information or false accusations that I am leaving to go overseas.
“It puts the individual and then the club in a different or a sticky situation where you have to have some meetings and clear the air and make sure it’s not happening. I want to stay here for a while.
“I came here for a reason, and I came here to win, and I want to see this club have success, and I want to be a part of that. That was the main reason for coming up here.”
