Hopes are high ahead of the 2024/25 Championship season. But for Sheffield Wednesday and indeed Chansiri, there may be one lingering worry.

Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl could be poached next season

Sheffield Wednesday have already received interest in Rohl this summer.

Earlier in the summer, Sunderland were linked with Rohl, who also had interest from Hull City.

That worry was put to bed when Rohl signed a new deal, but journalist George Elek has now predicted that Rohl could be the first manager to be poached in the Championship this season.

Speaking on Not The Top 20’s Instagram, Elek said when asked who the first Championship manager to be poached could be: “Danny Rohl.

“He’s come in at Sheffield Wednesday last season and been incredibly impressive.

“He’s the kind of profile of manager that I think Premier League teams will love.

“Increased his profile over the summer with his terrestrial TV appearances for the Euros and I think if he carries on doing well, I think he’ll be snapped up pretty quickly.”

Will Dejphon Chansiri be worried about Danny Rohl leaving Sheffield Wednesday

Right now, everyone seems settled. Rohl seems content at Sheffield Wednesday after Chansiri has shown clear ambition in the transfer market.

Rohl may feel like he has a lot left to achieve at Hillsborough. But should he do well then interest will be inevitable.

Worryingly for the Owls is that Rohl’s compensation fee was lowered when he signed a new deal; dropping down from what was £5million beforehand, or £10million for Rohl and his backroom team.

Rohl’s compensation fee likely remains high, though what it is remains to be seen.

Chansiri and the Sheffield Wednesday fans will have to hope that Rohl stays content enough to fend off any potential interest that might emerge.

That is, unless, a club comes in and simply pays him out, which would then cause Sheffield Wednesday a real headache.
