Sheffield Wednesday wing-back Yan Valery has arrived at Hillsborough with plenty of promise due to the fact that Rohl had previously coached him as assistant whilst at Premier League side Southampton.
The Tunisian international has made it clear that the German boss was the deciding factor in making the decision to return to England with Sheffield Wednesday.
Speaking to the club in his first interview, he said: “As soon as I knew that Danny wanted me, I just wanted to go back with him because I’ve known him as Southampton assistant coach, but he’s the one that was really working on the pitch with the players and with me in my first season.
“He helped me a lot and I improved so much with him so I was really happy to hear from him again and to know that now he was the main manager, so obviously it was a no-brainer.”

It’s clear that Rohl can be predominantly thanked for bringing such high profile figures to the team ahead of the 2024/25 Championship season.
