Huddersfield Town interim boss Jon Worthington has said they are ‘hopeful’ of getting some injured players back this weekend.

Huddersfield Town are back in League One action on Saturday afternoon. HTAFC face an away trip to The Valley to face Charlton Athletic.

The Terriers have been without the likes of David Kasumu, Radinio Balker and Josh Koroma recently. They will need to make checks on such players to see whether they can be involved against the Addicks.

In this latest selection update, Worthington has said, as per a report by the Yorkshire Post: “The break has come at a good time for us and we are hopeful, at the weekend, that there will be a few more additional bodies available. We have still got a few more days training to get to, but the signs are positive.

“The contact time has been great and it has been a great opportunity for us to get more ideas across to the players (in the break). It always helps off the back of a win when you go into a period like this.

“The mentality and positivity of the players has been really good this week and over the past couple of weeks. We are raring to go and itching to get to this game on Saturday.”

Huddersfield Town latest

Huddersfield Town made the decision to sack Michael Duff recently following a slump in form.

The Terriers turned to the former Cheltenham Town, Barnsley and Swansea City man last summer following their relegation from the Championship.

They slipped out of the second tier after finishing in the bottom three along with Birmingham City and Rotherham United.

Huddersfield Town are eyeing an immediate promotion and are currently sat in 6th place in the table.

The Yorkshire outfit are sat inside the play-offs along with Wycombe Wanderers, Stockport County and Charlton Athletic and have the likes of Bolton Wanderers, Reading and Leyton Orient chasing them down with nine fixtures left to play.

Worthington, who has been in this position before, has been placed in caretaker charge at the John Smith’s Stadium until the summer.

Will Huddersfield Town get promoted from League One?

Huddersfield Town won’t make the top two but their fate in regards to sealing a play-off position is in their own hands.

They won 5-1 at home to Crawley Town last time out with Joe Taylor, Callum Marshall, Matty Pearson and Ruben Roosken on the scoresheet, whilst Charlie Barker scored an own goal.
