Gary Lineker has been left intrigued by West Ham signing Niclas Fullkrug ahead of the new season.
The Hammers’ campaign kicks off on Saturday (17 August) against Aston Villa with the Germany international set to play a role.
The 31-year-old is one of eight fresh faces at the London Stadium and speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast on 16 August, Lineker has shown interest in the striker.
He said: “Fullkrug, which will be really interesting because obviously, he was the super sub for Germany wasn’t he at the Euros, he was at Dortmund last season, he’s a proper old-school number nine £27.5million.”

The former Werder Bremen man has certainly got supporters excited for the upcoming campaign after years of struggles for strikers.
Michail Antonio has been the exception in East London but at 34 years old, his best years are more than likely behind him now.
With that being said, Fullkrug is 31 himself so is no spring chicken, but is reliant on his size and physicality more than speed like the Jamaica international.
The forward signed from Dortmund will bring a different element to the London Stadium than they have already which will be useful for Julen Lopetegui’s squad.
There is good belief that the EURO 2024 star will fit right in and suit the style of play in the Premier League.
His age and the fee the Hammers have paid could prove to be a cause for concern if he doesn’t hit the ground running.
Right now the Irons won’t be thinking that way and will be hoping for the best ahead of their league opener against Aston Villa.
