The Florida State Seminoles, following the hires of defensive coordinator Tony White and defensive line coach Terrance Knighton, continue to target impactful defensive linemen in the transfer portal. Today brings word that the Seminoles have landed another edge rusher.
Deamontae Diggs is a 6’5”, 260 pound edge originally from McKeesport, Pennsylvania. Florida State hosted Diggs on an official visit that began on January 2 and sealed the deal by landing him today.
Diggs tallied 34 tackles (6.5 for loss), five sacks, six QB hits and two pass deflections in 13 games during the 2024 season.
Prior to his year at Coastal, he played for Youngstown State for four seasons. He saw action in all 23 games during his redshirt-sophomore and redshirt-junior campaigns, totaling 26 tackles and six sacks.
Diggs will have one year of eligibility remaining. He may not be an immediate starter but is expected to be in the EDGE rotation quickly for FSU.
