CANADA head coach Jesse Marsch insisted Cyle Larin’s loan at Saints has been “exactly what he needed” ahead of the biggest summer of his career.
The nal team for the March friendlies, having missed the most recent squad in November through injury.
Canada will host Iceland on Saturday, March 28, with kick-off at 5pm, before taking on Tunisia on Wednesday, April 1, at 12.30am, also in Toronto.
Canada is set to co-host the 2026 World Cup alongside USA and Mexico, with more matches set to be played in June as preparations continue.
Larin boasts 87 caps and is the second top-scorer in history for his country with 30 goals, only behind current teammate Jonathan David on 37.
“Cyle Larin’s move to Southampton is exactly what he needed. He’s playing outstanding,” said Marsch, who held talks to take over at Saints in 2023.
“He’s made a huge impact and is going to come into camp in top form, which is exactly what we need. I couldn’t be more excited for Cyle right now.”
Larin’s last goal for Canada came in a friendly against Panama in 2024, and the one-time captain has gone 11 games without netting.
But he has been playing regularly for Saints, demonstrating an impressive all-round game while scoring late headers against Watford and West Brom.
