Bristol Rovers is pleased to announce that Charlie Moody has put pen-to-paper on professional terms with the Club.

Moody was invited to a special event at The Memorial Stadium to sign his first professional contract, where he and his family were welcomed by Academy Manager Byron Anthony and Director Of Football Ricky Martin.

The midfielder served as captain of Bristol Rovers U18s last season and has been part of Darrell Clarke’s first-team squad during the pre-season schedule so far.

“It’s amazing to sign my first professional contract,” Moody said. “I’ve been at the Club since I was a young lad, eight-years-old. I’ve seen so much at this Club and climbed through the ranks, and it’s a dream come true to sign a professional contract here.

“It feels like all my hard work has led to this moment. It’s taken a lot of hard work both on and off the pitch, and my parents and my brother have been there with me, supporting me the whole way. They’ve always been there for me.

“It’s taken a lot, putting in the extra hours after training in the gym and things like that. It feels like that’s all been rewarded now with this pro deal, and it feels amazing.

“It does show you there is a real pathway at this Club. You want to see young players getting into the team, and it gives you that extra motivation to work even harder when you know that opportunity is there. If you work hard enough then you’re good enough and you’ll be in, and that’s what you want to hear as a young player.”

Anthony was delighted to be on hand to see Moody sign his professional terms, and is looking forward to seeing his continued progression.

The Academy Manager said: “I’m delighted that Charlie has put pen to paper on his first professional contract with Rovers.

“Charlie has been part of the Club since he was eight years old and has developed into a strong, composed midfield presence in our U18s. He has also served as captain for the group, developing his own skills and adding even more strings to his bow.

“Having signed his professional deal and trained with the first team through pre-season, it’s important that Charlie now uses those things as further fuel to push himself even harder, something we’re all looking forward to helping him with.”

Moody joined Bristol Rovers at eight years old and climbed through the ranks of the Academy, reaching the U18s and captaining the youth side last season.

A short loan with Cribbs followed in December 2024 for Moody, who then played for Frome Town FC on another short-term loan in March 2025.

Everyone at Bristol Rovers would like to congratulate Charlie on his first professional contract and wishes him the very best in his career with the Gas.
