BREAKING NEWS: Titans experiment over as former Wallaby released with immediate effect after the Wallabies offered Gold Coast a transfer fee of $100,000

The Titans’ Carter Gordon experiment is reportedly over.

Gordon is expected to be released back to rugby union effective immediately after the Wallabies offered the Gold Coast a transfer fee of $100,000, according to Code Sports.

He has been released from his Titans contract and is set to join Super Rugby club Queensland Reds for the 2026 season.

The Wallabies are keen to have Gordon at their disposal for the 2027 home World Cup.

Gordon only played in one NRL game this season after being sidelined with a spinal injury.

Gordon’s release means his contract for next year comes off the book, giving the Titans a little more salary cap ammo for next season.

It’s unclear who the Titans may target but what is clear is that new coach Josh Hannay is keen give his roster a face lift.

Veteran prop Reagan Campbell-Gillard is already out the door while the club are making moves to allow David Fifita to head to South Sydney.
