Swindon Town: who did they keep and let go ready for next season

Swindon Town can confirm the departures of several players following the publication of the club’s retained and released list.

Everyone at the club would like to place on record our sincere thanks to each player for their contribution during their time at the County Ground and wish them every success for the future.

Ryan Delaney joined Swindon Town during the summer of 2024 and made his debut for the club in September that year against Exeter City in the EFL Trophy. The defender went on to make 29 appearances in red and white across his time at the County Ground.

After joining the club from Crawley Town in the summer of 2024, Will Wright quickly established himself as a key player in Swindon Town’s defence. Wright made his debut against Chesterfield in August 2024 and remarkably did not miss a single game throughout the season. His consistency and performances saw him make 95 appearances for the club, while also scoring nine goals from defence.

His outstanding first season was recognised by collecting three separate Supporters’ Player of the Season accolades.

Jake Batty arrived at Swindon Town in January 2026 and made his debut against Oldham Athletic shortly after joining the club. Since his arrival earlier this year, Batty went on to make 17 appearances in all competitions for the Robins.

Academy graduate Redman Evans progressed through the ranks after joining the club from Under-16s level and became a standout performer during the Under-18s’ memorable FA Youth Cup campaign, which saw Town reach the quarterfinals against Bristol City. The goalkeeper made his senior debut for the club against Exeter City in the EFL Trophy in November 2023.

Experienced forward Junior Hoilett joined the club in January 2026 and made his Swindon Town debut against Oldham Athletic. Hoilett featured 14 times for the Robins following his arrival earlier this year.

Billy Bodin’s association with Swindon Town spanned two separate spells at the club. The forward originally made his debut back in 2010 against Dagenham & Redbridge before returning to the County Ground in August 2025. His second debut came against Cardiff City in the EFL Cup, and across both spells with the club, Bodin made a total of 50 appearances in red and white.

Jaxon Brown joined Swindon Town as a first-year scholar at Under-17s level following his arrival from Tottenham Hotspur. Brown played an important role during the club’s impressive FA Youth Cup run to the quarterfinals against Bristol City before earning his first professional contract with the club. He made his senior debut against Arsenal Under-21s in the EFL Trophy in August 2023.

Having joined the Swindon Town Academy at Under-10s level, Dani Gonzalez-Birchall progressed through the academy pathway to make his first-team breakthrough. He made his senior debut against Bristol Rovers in the EFL Trophy in October 2024 before making his EFL league debut against Cheltenham Town in December 2025.

Antony McCormick joined Swindon Town Football Club Academy at Under-7s level and progressed through every stage of the academy system. A leader both on and off the pitch, McCormick captained the Under-18s during his second-year scholarship and played a key role throughout the side’s league and cup campaigns. He made his first-team debut against Tottenham Hotspur after rising through the ranks at the club.

George Alston joined Swindon Town from Under-8s level and progressed through the academy before making his senior debut against Reading in the EFL Trophy in October 2023. His development through the academy system saw him become another player to represent the first team after progressing through the club’s pathway.
