Swindon Town forward sign for League Two side Barnet on loan

Former Swindon Town attacker Diallang Jaiyesimi has dropped back into League Two to sign on loan for Barnet during the January transfer window.

Barnet, who are 13th in League Two at present, are looking to make a push in the second half of the season and have made a double swoop from Leyton Orient.

Defender Phillip Chinedu has headed to The Hive alongside Jaiyesimi on loan deals until the end of the season.

Jaiyesimi was a sensation during his 18 months at Swindon, as he joined on loan from Norwich City and became a core part of Richie Wellens’ title-winning team, scoring a memorable goal against Plymouth Argyle.

Swindon then won the race for his permanent signature that summer, and he was their key player during the 2020/21 campaign in League One, before completing a shock move to Charlton Athletic on deadline day of the January transfer window, with Town being relegated at the end of the season.

He has not quite hit the same heights since leaving, spending two of his three seasons at Charlton on loan, at AFC Wimbledon and St Johnstone, before joining back up with Wellens at Leyton Orient.

Town will get a reunion on February 17 when they head to The Hive to face Dean Brennan’s side, which also contains Nnamdi Ofoborh and Romoney Crichlow.
