Castleford Tigers have signed prop Jimmy Beckett from beleaguered neighbours Featherstone Rovers.
The 26-year-old will be stepping up to Super League level for the first time, having made almost 100 appearances in the Championship.
He’s featured for Featherstone over two spells, spending more than three years at Dewsbury Rams in between.
In the early stages of his career, Beckett also had loan stints at Keighley Cougars and Oldham.
Beckett played 31 times for Featherstone last season, all but once as a starter, but has moved on with Rovers currently in administration.
“It’s my first time in a full-time setup, so that is going to bring out the best in me,” he said.
His arrival takes Castleford’s tally of new signings to a round dozen as they look to rebuild under new head coach Ryan Carr.

“Jimmy had a great year at Featherstone Rovers last year and he’s a player that both myself and Ryan think will really kick on here.
“He is only 26 years old and has plenty of years ahead of him – and under Ryan’s guidance, we’re hoping he really kicks on and makes himself a Super League regular at Castleford.
“Jimmy works hard on both sides of the ball and we’re confident he will play a big part at the Tigers in the next few years.”
