Tranmere Rovers have signed midfielder Charlie Whitaker from Notts County on a two-year deal.
The 21-year-old joined Everton from Blackburn Rovers in 2016 and spent nine years with the Toffees, signing professional terms in 2022.
He moved to Notts County in January 2025, going on to make over 20 appearances and scoring four goals.
Speaking to tranmererovers.co.uk, Whitaker said he is ready to give his all: “I’m really excited. I’ve spoken to the gaffer and I’m just really excited about the ambitions of the club. Hopefully, I can help with that and push the team to where they need to be.
“I know it’s a really big club, the fans want hard work from you and they expect that every game. I’ll give 110% every time I’m on the pitch.”
Manager Andy Crosby added: “Our recruitment process has been about trying to find the right balance between experience and youth, and improving our squad from previous seasons.
“We believe we’ve brought in a player who can bring creativity in the final third, a player who can score and play the final pass, a player who is of a great age for us to develop and for us to give him a platform to grow.”
