Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Shea Charles has lifted the lid on his future at the club.
The Owls are currently gearing up for an away trip to Paul Warne’s Derby County, where they will hope to build on their midweek win against Hull City.
In the build up to the game, there has been a real buzz around several of the players as Danny Rohl’s side look to really turn the tide of the 2024/25 Championship campaign, and one man who has really made that difference is Southampton loanee Shea Charles.
The Sheffield Wednesday man-in-the centre-of-the-park has been pivotal in the side, and that was recognised after he was named in the Team of the Week for his showing against now managerless Hull City.
With his performances improving week-by-week there is obviously a lot of hesitation over whether he will stay beyond January, and as a result he has discussed his future in S6.

Charles has played a pivotal part since he joined in the summer, and has been brilliant alongside Barry Bannan.
As a result, there is every hope that Charles will remain at the club, and the expectation is that this is set to happen, and he will likely play out the entire loan spell until the end of the 2024/25 Championship season.
Charles has now been questioned on whether he will stay in S6, to which his response was limited, but still made it clear his views on whether he sees himself staying at Sheffield Wednesday in the coming months.
Per Football Heaven, Charles said: “As far as I know, I’m here for the season.
“Yeah, 100%. It’s started so well, so I don’t see any reason to not want to stay.”

There is no doubting that Charles has been integral so far for Rohl’s side, and looking at the stats, that is certainly clear.
Per SofaScore, in his 14 games played, he has managed an impressive 81% passing accuracy and has created one big chance, but his real qualities lie with his defensive abilities.
The Owls man has also averaged 3.2 tackles, as well as recovering 6.7 balls per game. He is also brilliant yet to make one error leading to a shot.
Charles adds that stability in front of the backline, and there is no underestimating how crucial that is, and it will be crucial that he stays past January.
