Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson has said Elliot Lee will be given “a bit of time” after his involvement in a road traffic collision last Tuesday.
The accident happened when the Wrexham forward was driving home after his team’s 1-0 win over Bolton Wanderers in the EFL Trophy.
Lee missed Wrexham’s 2-0 win against Northampton town in League One on Saturday, with his manager saying it will be “difficult” to put a time on his return to the pitch.
“Elliot is key player for us, he’s our top scorer and we need him back obviously but we’ve got to make sure he’s right,” said Parkinson.
“Obviously the trauma of that takes its toll on you a little bit. He’s very shaken up as you can imagine and we’re pleased that he’s okay.
“We want to give him a bit of time before he comes back,” added Parkinson.
With Wrexham sitting third in the table, two points off an automatic promotion spot, Parkinson has said the strength of the squad will help Wrexham during a busy period of fixtures, including an EFL Trophy semi-final against Peterborough United.
