Meanwhile, rumours of Patrick Bamford joining the Hollywood-backed side began to emerge.
No move came to pass, but a report from TEAMtalk this week suggests it could be on the cards this summer.
They claim that Wrexham are interested in Bamford and that his departure from Elland Road could allow Leeds to sign Vardy on a free.
Is Patrick Bamford wage achievable for Wrexham
One of the main issues with Bamford’s links to Wrexham in January was his pretty large wage.
Caplogy claim the forward takes home £70,000-a-week or £3,640,000 a year on his current contract.
Such figures were well out of the Red Dragons’ reach previously, but promotion to the Championship should change that.
Wrexham will quadruple their wage bill in 2025/26 after moving up to the second tier.
For context, it stood at just over £11m in the 2023/24 League Two season, meaning it could now move to over £44m in the forthcoming campaign.
