Wrexham have been backed to sign a player they are being linked with ahead of the summer for one key reason.
Wrexham’s plans for the 2025 summer transfer window are already beginning to take shape.
Phil Parkinson commented on transfers recently, outlining what the club do not want from potential targets.
Several names have also been linked with the recently promoted side in the last week or so.
Wrexham want Cardiff City’s Callum Robinson, who has been making headlines this week after missing their final game of 2024/25 and was wrongly accused of attending an Aston Villa match on the same day.
Elsewhere, Ryan Hardie was looked at in the January transfer window and interest in the forward has returned this month.
Ryan Hardie to Wrexham discussed by Don Goodman
It was reported recently that Wrexham are back in the hunt for Hardie, who had a £2m price tag earlier this year.
Hardie spent 2024/25 with Plymouth Argyle, who have now been relegated back down to League One after two seasons in the Championship.
Following their relegation, Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman has suggested when discussing Wrexham’s interest in the player that a move to the Championship may be hard for him to turn down despite his love for the Greens.
Goodman told Football League World: “I’m not surprised that Ryan Hardie is being linked with a move, particularly to Wrexham.
“And, despite Plymouth being relegated, Ryan Hardie was certainly a standout. 10 goals and three assists in a team that, obviously, got relegated and in the main, struggled to score goals is a very commendable effort.
“But, he’s all action, isn’t he? He’s mobile, he’s big, he’s a willing runner and he can finish. I think, if the possibility arrived for him then he’d have a decision to make. Because, it clearly feels like he loves Plymouth Argyle.
“But, the opportunity to continue at Championship level might be one that he might find difficult to turn down.”

Despite playing in a weak Plymouth side who were ultimately relegated, Hardie still had a solid 2024/25.
The 28-year-old found the net 10 times in 37 Championship appearances and provided three assists.
No Wrexham striker, apart from Sam Smith, who scored 11 with Reading, netted more in the most recent campaign.
