Northern Kentucky women’s golf coaches David Shearer and Melissa Yeazell have added to their squad ahead of the 2024-25 season, as talented transfer Kenna Jenkinson has joined NKU as a redshirt sophomore.
“We are excited to have Kenna join the Norse golf family,” Yeazell said. “She has had an impressive junior career and is a leader on and off the golf course. Kenna is very passionate about the game, works hard, and is looking forward to having a great season.”
Jenkinson comes to the Norse from the University of Cincinnati, where she competed in one tournament for the Bearcats in the Fall of 2023.
Jenkinson had a distinguished junior career prior to her time with UC. The newest member of the Norse women’s golf team was a 14-time winner on the GCGA Junior Tour and a three-time winner on the SOPGA Junior Tour. In addition to those 17 victories, Jenkinson was a three-time Optimist International qualifier, with a pair of qualifier wins, and a two-time Indiana Elite College Showcase Qualifier winner with a championship as well.
In high school, Jenkinson was a sectional champion as well as a Four-time Miami Valley League Player of the Year at Greenville High School in Ohio.
The Norse are set to begin their season at Central Michigan’s A-Ga-Ming Invitational, beginning August 30.
