Bristol Rovers duo Kofi Shaw and Taylor Moore have been nominated for League One Apprentice of the Season and EFL Player in the Community respectively at the EFL Awards.

On the back of making his senior debut in the final game of last season, Shaw has made 14 appearances for the Gas this campaign with a loan spell at Yeovil Town in the middle.

The 18-year-old attacking midfielder featured in cup matches against Cardiff City, Tottenham Hotspur Under-21s, against whom he scored his first goal and Swindon Town while coming on in the 2-1 defeat at Barnsley and making his first league start in the 3-2 loss at Peterborough United.

Shaw was then sent out on loan to Yeovil, while also signing a new contract at Rovers until summer 2027, where he played 16 times in the National League.

Inigo Calderon made the decision to recall the academy product in February and has subsequently handed him starts in the Gas’ last seven games.

The teenager is up against Exeter City’s Jake Richards and Shrewsbury Town’s Luca Whitney.

Meanwhile, Moore has already landed the League One Community Player award at the EFL Community Awards earlier this month for his mental health initiative ‘5k Your Way’.

Promoting mental and physical wellbeing, partnered with the Bristol Rovers Community Trust, participants take part in a five kilometre walk and are encouraged to openly talk about mental health in a safe environment while also getting exercise.

The center-back, who has made 30 appearances for Rovers since joining last summer, is nominated alongside Norwich City’s Jack Stacey and Doncaster Rovers’ Joseph Olowu.

The awards ceremony is set to take place on April 27 with part of it set to be broadcast live on Sky Sports Football from 8:30pm.
